What is T-Cell Lymphoma?

T-cell lymphoma is a type of Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in which the T-cells in the lymph nodes grow without any order, and form tissue and then cancerous tumors.

Facts about T-Cell Lymphoma

• T-cell lymphomas make up 10-15% of all lymphomas in the United States.
• Symptoms of T-cell lymphoma can vary, but may include skin rashes, enlarged lymph nodes or spleen, fatigue, night sweats, weight loss, anemia, bleeding and an increased rate of infections.

Diagnostic tests for T-Cell lymphoma generally include any of the following:

• Biopsies
• Blood tests
• X-rays
• CT scans
• MRI (magnetic resonance imaging
• Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan
• Gallium scan
• Bone marrow examination
• Molecular tests

Treatment may include any—or combination--of the following:

• Chemotherapy
• Radiation therapy
• Biologic therapy
• Bone marrow or stem cell transplantation
• Surgery (usually in some cases of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL)
