The Fund:
In early 1998, while performing a breast self-exam, Stefanie Spielman felt a lump. She immediately had it examined by her physician and was told...at age 30...that she had breast cancer.
Stefanie has now survived three bouts with breast cancer. She believes that education is the best weapon against this disease, and that research is the key to eliminating it. That’s why she and her husband, former OSU football star and All-Pro NFL linebacker Chris Spielman, established the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at The James. They pledged to raise $1 million to be dedicated to breast cancer research at the Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute at The Ohio State University. Although this goal has been surpassed, your help is still needed in the fight against breast cancer.
