 About the Lectureship 

 

Herbert and Maxine Block Memorial Lectureship Award for Distinguished Achievement in Cancer


This prestigious award is given annually by The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. An international competition identifies an individual whose contributions to cancer research, patient care or education have received worldwide recognition.

This year the award has been increased to $25,000, making the Block Memorial Lectureship Award one of the largest prizes awarded by an academic institution in the field of cancer. The lectureship activities are scheduled for October 8-9, 2009, and the announcement of the 2009 awardee is anticipated in the coming weeks.
